A Step in the Right Direction

So this blog has been sitting dormant for over two years now.  Which sucks because I really wanted to do something with this, and it’s basically just been sitting here collecting cyber dust.

A lot has happened in the past two years.  Ran into some financial trouble, had to find a roommate, moved twice, and have found myself suffering from bouts of depression and anxiety in the pursuit of trying to find sustainable income, as most people my age do.  My art and writing have unfortunately taken a back burner, which I’m actually beginning to believe has made my anxiety worse with my lack of creative outlet.

So I decided it was time for an over haul.  Starting next year, I will be relaunching this blog, completely redesigned, along side my art website (which is LONG overdue for a redesign).  Instead of articles and random blog posts, this will be a blog dedicated to stories (short and long), comics, as well as updates on my biggest writing project to date.  That’s right, you heard it here first:  I’m going to be writing a novel.  A sci-fi/fantasy story I’ve had banging around my head since the eighth grade.  I decided it was time for it to come out.

I still will be writing articles, though since some of the subject matters will be questionable (as far as potential employers go), I will be creating a new blog for any articles I write.  This includes articles I write for other websites, as I am planning on trying to submit to other article sites (like Cracked).  “Safer” articles I will post on my story blog as well.

As for my art website, which is also my professional portfolio site, I’ve never really liked the design I have now (I just threw something up just to get my parents to quit harassing me.  Seriously guys, don’t just throw something up to have something up.  Take your time with it.  Make it good).  I decided it was time for an upgrade, especially since I have shifted focus from animation to character design and illustration.

So I’m sorry I was gone for so long.  I’m back, and I hope you are willing to take this journey with me in this new chapter (pun intended).
